As in previous years the majority of requests concerned vehicles breakdowns (37.7 thousand calls) and lack of fuel (11,1 thousand calls). Since the most intense traffic in 2023 was on the M-4 Don road, traffic safety inspectors mostly helped in repairing cars on M4 - 56.6% of the service’s visits were on this road.
4 072 times traffic safety inspectors helped drivers in case of traffic accidents and 3 008 times with emergency stop, and 96% of all such requests were on the M11 Neva Road.
Also among other common calls of traffic safety inspectors was the presence of pedestrians on highways. Only in 2023, UTS specialists saved the lives of 827 pedestrians who were moving along the roads, violating prohibition 16.1 of the traffic rules of the Russian Federation.
“Despite the fact that the number of calls to UTS Traffic Safety Inspectors’ service in 2023 increased by 16% compared to 2022, the number of accidents that occurred on the entire network of roads operated by our company decreased by 4%. At the same time, traffic on roads in 2023 increased by 8.5%. These figures allow us to conclude that toll roads are becoming safer and our efforts, as an operator company, to ensure road safety are not in vain”, - commented UTS General Director, Oleg Trofimov.
